Blackheads are the small dark spots dotting the skin generally found in areas where there is an excess of oil build up such as the nose, forehead and chin. They are a result of the sebum and dead skin cells in the pores being exposed to oxygen turning the dark color which you see just below the surface. They can be dealt with in a number of ways, one of which is removing manually with a blackhead remover.

There are a few different methods and gadgets on the market you can try, but the reality is that they are only temporary solutions and can cause damage to your skin if not done correctly. If you are not in a hurry to remove them, you might want to learn more about how to get rid of blackheads which are most effective by using a simple daily cleansing routine to keep the pores open and freed from the sebum responsible. However, these home remedies for blackheads are definitely slower in taking effect. But if you need to get rid of them quickly for whatever reason, here are a few suggestions for blackhead removers. Keep in mind that with all these methods there is always a danger of causing more damage and you should never use excessive force.

There is a black head remover device which you can purchase online or in your drug store which has a small loop at one or both ends used to place over the blackhead and apply pressure. The blackhead will be forced to the surface and you will be able to clean it off from there. However, if it is not successful, you should never apply too much pressure or try to force it or you may cause more irritation and skin damage. To soften the skin and open the pore to make removal easier, first soak a clean washcloth in warm water and place over the area for a couple of minutes then remove, or you can try giving your face a steam bath first. While the skin is still supple place the looped end of the devise directly over top of the blackhead and apply gentle even pressure. Once the blackhead is released, wipe it clean with alcohol on a cotton swab or another cleanser to ensure any bacteria does not touch any other area of the face.

Another method of removing blackheads is Blackhead Removal Strips which are basically as it states sticky strips applied to the affected area and removed, lifting the blackheads with it. You could also try a blackhead removal gun which is a device that literally vacuums the pores, sucking the blackheads out. Other methods are tweezers and double spoon extractors for larger blackheads.

Many people opt for their own methods of removal by simply using two tissues placed at the ends of each index finger and on either side of the blackhead at its base and gently squeezing inward and upward at the same time.

One home made method which has been suggested is using the inner ink tube of a pen. Place the open end over the blackhead and gently place pressure and twist. The dangers of using this method are its unhygienic factor and for many it does not work.

Whichever method you use, or if you opt for the daily cleansing routine, blackheads should be removed as they could eventually lead to excessive clogging with the danger of becoming infected full blown acne. Use the method that works best for you with the least amount of damage to your skin.

I am 26 with pretty fair skin and I have had blackheads on my chin and nose for years, (as long as I can remember). I have read many reviews about the Shielo Complexion Scrub and I don’t think they are doing this product justice. After using Shielo’s Complexion Scrub, from their Anti-Aging category, for only 3 days, I have already seen an improvement and not just a little improvement, but a major one.

Most of my blackheads have completely been removed. I understand it may not work for all people but I have and will continue to recommend this product to anyone who will listen. P.S. If you are gonna try it, get it online, because I paid 3 times the price when I bought it in the store.
