Almost every teenager and many adults suffer from skin problems at least some time in their life. Pimples in adolescence are caused by increased hormonal activity which produces sebum excreted through pores in the skin. If there is an excessive build up or a blockage, this can result in pimples.
If you know you are prone to outbreaks, it’s good to have some backups available on how to prevent pimples from occurring, especially when you know you are most vulnerable. There is a very large range of methods you can use from home remedies to over the counter medicated creams. Find one that works best for you and keep it handy for those times you will need it the most.
Probably one of the best defences, although not a guarantee, is a proper and regular skin care regime. Keeping the pores open and cleansed of the sebum, which causes the pimples, goes a long way in preventing the build up from occurring in the first place. Choose a mild soap or a medicated cleanser for acne and gently wash your skin in a circular motion to help cleanse deep into the pores. Do not scrub hard as this will only irritate the skin causing redness, and washing a couple of times a day should be sufficient. Make one of those times just before going to bed to ensure all makeup is removed, as this is a huge culprit in blocking pores. Rinse the skin thoroughly after cleansing with cool water to help flush the soap and any excess sebum away.
Diet and exercise play a large role in overall health and outer appearances. To ensure a proper diet, try to eat fresh fruits and vegetables on a daily basis and reduce those junk foods laden with sugar and saturated fats and oils. Drink plenty of water as this will help flush toxins from your body and keep your skin hydrated. Find a good exercise regiment to follow, or simply go for walks several times a week. Make sure as well you are getting plenty of sleep. This gives your body the time it needs to regenerate itself to help fight infections and improve skin conditions and overall health.
